THE MALTAFILE
MALTA.....THE TRUTH is not so sunny as the island
THIS INFORMATION IS OF IMPORTANCE TO...
INFORMATION ON ......
WHAT YOU MISSED-----------What the EU should know
We lived in Malta for a long time and worked in different places
and even have our own business here. We decided to write these pages simply
because we had enough of the way things are run here in Malta, fed up with the
corruption which you notice on a daily basis, by talking to people or by just
looking around you. We are fed up with the bad water, the bad sewage systems,
the dumping sites, the dirt, the stink, (Malta...the country of Smells, Yells
and Bells so said Lord Byron on visiting the country) the constant water and
power cuts, the Maltese selfishness and rudeness and their extremely
hypocritical nature, the way they treat the tourists and foreigners, the greed
etc. etc. We are ashamed to ask family or friends to visit us. Malta is in a
sorry state indeed. If you, the reader don't really believe all that is written
here or if the reader thinks that we are exaggerating, we suggest that you try
Malta for yourself. But you have to actually live there to experience what we go
through on a daily basis. There is always something wrong with almost
everything you purchase from pre-packed ham slices to a power drill. This
applies to probably 80% to 90% of everything. No one cares or wants to make
things better. The whole country is in a mess. Try it and you see. No matter
what political party there is in government. Malta has never changed. Oh yes
they have new technologies but do they know how to use them?
We despise
corruption. You will be amazed how much information one can gather. The Maltese
love to talk and we had no problem to get information from very dependable
sources on delicate and not so delicate matters from among others, political
members, supporters, government workers, friends and teachers.
You might say
as to why don't we go back to our country. It's not as simple as that
really. We have businesses to run. Our children have lived here all their
life, and so we wait maybe someday things will change now that Malta
joined the EU.
We will in these few pages show the tourist and the foreigner what Malta is. We will show the EU what they have missed, things the Maltese government doesn't like to talk about. We will show the companies who are planning to invest here things they should know. We made enough research on the matter MALTA. So let us start.
EU DELEGATES .. NOW READ THIS
Whenever a delegate or a diplomat comes to Malta the chauffeur
is instructed to always drive on the specially made roads. The driver wouldn't
dare take you on the real roads that the Maltese people use everyday. So the
delegates really never know the bad and deteriorating infrastructure of this
country. A civil engineer once said that 98% of all roads are so bad that they
need replacing very soon and not just repairing. What about the dumping sites
that delegates don't know about? Like the site behind the nature reserve at
Mellieha and about a kilometre from the Paradise Bay Hotel. This is officially
closed but still used at will. And the sewage output just 1 km from the Paradise Bay Hotel and the
Danish Complex? This sewage output is behind the nature reserve at Mellieha by
the illegal dumpsite just mentioned. And the dump site at Manikata? Photographs
at the bottom of this page will prove this. And what about the hunting of birds
of prey by the hundreds if not thousands (pictures below). And the amnesty the
authorities gave (last May) out to hunters and collectors of illegally shot and
mounted birds, that whoever shot any illegal birds (up untill May), any birds
that is, from a short toed eagle to an osprey can register them to make them
legal. And why after spending millions on the reverse osmosis plants, Malta
doesn't have good drinking water? Where is the money generated from road and
petrol taxes going? Maybe to cover the wages of over 40,000 government
employees? Actually that's right. Many got the job from favours to others
although there is no work for them. A friend said less than half are needed to
do the job. He said that many have nothing to do except phoning family and/or
friends for a chat from the government office where they work just to pass the
time. Why after spending millions, power and water cuts still
happen in the year 2003? On a daily basis. And why are roads and pavements
(after years of road and petrol tax collection) a disgrace? If someone
asks us these questions my answer must be......CORRUPTION, DISORGANISATION,
INCOMPETENCE and INEFFIECENCY with NO CIVIC PRIDE whatsoever. There is no other
answer. The proof of corruption is the condition of the country.
We vigorously appeal to the EU
to: enforce all their means and
capabilities to take action in......
stopping all illegal dumping and
hunting. Investigate where all monies (taxes) of car and petrol are going if not
for the road structures, lightings and signs (one can see that the
infrastructure is a disgrace, so where is the money going?). And to investigate
why water is bad, why water and electrical power is still being interrupted (cut
off) on a daily basis.
Also, we ask
the EU to enforce laws which already exist in other countries but are ignored in
Malta, to make owners of all food outlets attend courses in customer care and
hygiene. Also we like the EU to investigate why the MEPA (the Malta Environment
and Planning Authority) is passing applications for new constructions (buildings
etc.) on protected areas (of ecological value).
| Does the EU say anything about
this? BAD WATER
CONSTANT POWER CUTS AND BAD CURRENT FILTERING

The newspaper clippings at the bottom shows how democratic this country is. Just because a 16 year-old girl supported the National Party and the EU, she suffered serious injuries to her face with a beer bottle thrown at her by a Labour Party supporter. Is this democracy; when you can't even say anything about a specific party in a public place without having your face ripped or being beaten up or worse. What about the unsolved letter bomb murder of years past, just because a professor broke a strike, a letter bomb was send to him. His daughter happen to open this. In Malta both parties have fanatic followers. What happened to this girl was caused by a savage folk. Folk who get offended if you say that they have Arabic tendencies, looks, language, temper and taught. Because consciously and deep down they know they are of Semitic (Arabic) descendants and get offended quite strongly to the point of a fistfight. This we never understood. The Semitic language of the Maltese that is understood by Arabic speakers, is the people's primary distinction from Sicily and Italy. Also, if it were not for the Knights and the British, Malta would most likely have been absorbed by the Arabic world. Nevertheless because of its bad infrastructure, hygiene, safety standards etc. the Maltese people should just accept that Malta is still a third world country and not pretend that it is something else.
| What happened to this girl was caused by a savage
folk. Doesn't matter if its 1903 or
2003........savagery all the time..... Please read on ![]() Just because she supported another political party and the EU. |

THE TOURIST
Consider this first before you book a nightmare holiday to Malta.....................WHY? |
| Maybe because of the dirt and the stink and the dust
everywhere you go (a very high rate of asthma here). Or maybe because at a one way system a driver coming the wrong way takes out a shotgun to frighten you or smash your head with an iron bar because you refused to go on the pavement to let him pass? Or maybe your beer cost 30 times more than it should have. And the dinner was 4 times over the normal price and inedible, smelly, cold and complains to the waiter or manager ended with a fight. Or the noises at 6.30 am from building works. Is it because in a parking argument one shot the other for a parking space? Maybe the dirty beaches, not knowing if it is safe to swim because the businessmen pull down the warning signs so they can sell their ice creams and drinks to swimmers. Is it because you complained to the driver for not using the indicator lights and out he goes to punch you? And the country walks that can end up with you being bitten by wild dogs or worse a hunter scares you off public land with a loaded shotgun. And the stink from sewers to finish you off? Your leg broken because you tripped in a hole on a "pavement". Broken pavements all around Malta. And you know that if you complain you get told off for wearing high heels. Having 4 tyre punctures in a week because the roads are a disgrace. And your rented car doesn't have a spare tyre and you're stuck. Or you are out and it happens to rain and you are wearing your best dress and an idiot drives over the biggest water paddle he can find just to soak you all over with dirty water. FOR FUN. Or maybe you are using your hair dryer and you get an electricity cut or worse, you are covered with soap and there is a water cut. Maybe you are asthmatic. Plenty of exhaust fumes and tons of dust to make you real sick. Or you can't find a beach to swim because they are polluted and you try the local pool, which is filled with seawater anyway, and the charge is 10 pounds per day. Maybe you need hospital treatment and you are thrown out PREGNANT OR NOT because you don't have the necessary insurance. Maybe a fallen wheel of your rented car after driving in one of the thousands of holes on the Maltese roads. Or you are driving and all of a sudden a car is coming from the opposite direction but on your lane at a sharp corner. Normal driving for Malta. Or maybe because you heard of other tourists experiencing their so called holiday in Malta A NIGHTMARE Please read on...................... May we say that if you like to experience a
smelly, dusty, very noisy, polluted and dirty country, than Malta is for
you. Just for the experience at
least. |
Poor people. We felt so sorry for them this year. After
consulting a holiday brochure with the loveliest pictures of Malta they decide
to spend their holidays here. What a nightmare it can turn out to be. First the
beaches. They are now so polluted that a summer can pass without a single swim.
The authorities do erect warning signs against swimming where and whenever they
feel like it. Greedy businessmen remove them straight away. Signs like that does
not attract swimmers and bathers. The businessman then cannot sell his ice
creams, drinks or sandwiches. So signs are removed instantly when they are put
up. No arrests are made probably because no sales of drinks etc. means no VAT
and TAXES for the government. By chance you might hear of a warning that
swimming is hazardous in a certain beach. In desperation, with the feeling of
that summer heat, you try the outdoor swimming pools. We found out through a
friend that many of the pools are filled with polluted seawater.
Not many tourists know that right? So you still get it no
matter what. And the fee for two people for a day by the pool is 10 Maltese
pounds. What cheats.
There is always something wrong with the cash machines.
There was a fault that lasted a week. There was no means to withdraw money with
any foreign card, visa, master etc. For the tourist this meant a whole week with
no money. The authorities said tourists should have taken cash with them. We
asked three different tourists what the banks have told them as for the reason
that the machines were faulty. They said every bank had a different reason and
blamed it on.. 1st the thunder, 2nd the rain,
3rd a satellite fault.
What an unforgettable nightmare these
tourists went through. No money no food and no one is going to help them, and
indeed no one did. Who can say that the Maltese people are generous and friendly
except maybe the Maltese themselves? We believe these tourists will never come
back here again. Dont forget that the Maltese prefare well off tourists with
loads of money to spend, definitely no 3 star tourists.
Overcharging the tourist: real or not? A tourist we know
was charged two Maltese pounds for 3 cheesecakes that normally cost about 30
cents. In a bar where one of our associates was having a drink a tourist asked
for one bottle of beer. From ten pounds he was given almost four pounds in
change. Again it should not cost more than 35 cents. He said he saw him
complaining outside and asked him that he should go back for more change. He did
and got some more money back. The barman said he did a mistake. He saw another
tourist paying 1 pound for 2 apples in the Marsaxlokk market. The Maltese are
ripping the foreigners off at the first opportunity.

![]()
In a restaurant an associate heard a tourist complaining as to
why did it take over 50 minutes for their meal. The uneducated person who
happened to be the owner himself answered "are you joking, it takes time to
cook". The meal was not the one they ordered (after waiting 50 minutes). Another
tourist was grossly overcharged for a soft drink. When she did not want to pay
the whole amount the bar owner brought the police. And arrested HER!!!
A few
weeks ago an associate was driving with his wife and sons, at a crossroad they
saw a man on a horse and cart lashing his whip at a driver. Probably for not
letting him pass first. They said that it looked like from the prehistoric
ages.
Beware walking in the country. You are bound to meet a wild dog or dogs
as friends of ours found out. If the dog owner, usually a farmer or hunter is
around he will entice the dog to go and bite the hikers. This has happened to
us. The owner just stood there watching his 3 dogs.
Countryside or no
countryside, stinks are everywhere. Stinks of sewage, manure, rotten dead cats
and dogs and exhaust fumes. Then you have the dust, dust of building work, dust
from the power stations, black particles that dirties your drying clothes, stone
quarries and the dump sites.
They will tell you that if you don't like it go
back to your country. Some friendly people we say. You will experience racism at
some time or another. The Malta Independent of the 11th of July 2003 on page 5
says it all. If you are a German tourist you be called Hitler or a Nazi and if
you are a Scottish or Irish you be called a Drunk if you don't like what they
offer you. If you complain they repeatedly tell you to **** off to your country.
This is the truth.....This is the Maltese.![]()
The Arabic people are not spared neither from the Maltese
racist remarks. Some nightclubs will refuse their entry. If you give the
slightest hint that a Maltese person looks Arabic, you will probably get
punched. They truly get very offended.
You be blamed for wearing
high heels if you trip on a broken pavement. Caution!! broken pavements
everywhere.
If you suffer from asthma and complain to the bus driver to stop
smoking, he will tell you to leave the bus.
If you are first at a parking
space let the one behind you park instead, if you don't want to be beaten
up.
etc.etc.etc.etc.etc.etc.etc.etc.etc.
And don't be fooled to think that
because it's a small island crime does not exist. Please read on.

COMPANIES WHO WANT TO SET UP BUSINESS HERE
and for foreigners who are thinking of moving to
Malta.
We always suggest that a
person who wants to open a business in Malta needs to talk to a few
established companies before he/she decides. Just to verify what we have
said.
We say beware.
The Maltese mentality is still from the dark
ages. When it comes to business, local or foreign you will undoubtedly get
problems unheard of in the rest of Europe. When one of the political party heads
say that Malta should not join the EU because Europe has AIDS and that in the
recent case of pedophilia he comments as...........
Or a comment like this one below which the Maltese people
truly and honestly believe. Even in the year of 2003..........
Or after England's complaint about the shooting of birds in
Malta, a local hunting paper said that the British kill children and the Maltese
kill birds. You start to imagine how these people think. The
red tape, the bureaucracy, the corruption. It is pointless to explain to them
any problem incurred through your new business venture. They have their ideas
and no one can change that.
Malta will soon be part of the European union.
Tax exemptions and other advantages will be removed. Obviously this is a
disadvantage for Malta. How are they going to convince companies to open a
business here? Would companies like to set up their business in a country
where continuous power cuts and water cuts are the norm.
Problems and
corruption should minimise now that Malta will be part of the EU (wishful
thinking? maybe). Nevertheless have a look at the file we are compiling on
corruption in Malta at http://www.maltafile.5u.com/
There you will read how a government turned on a local bank,
took all its assets, ships, hard cash, companies and hotels for its own purpose.
How assets worth thousands were sold for pennies. And how a government destroyed
a company that directly and indirectly used to employ over 3000 people. A very
interesting read indeed.
No matter how much money your
business brings to Malta. Your company is bound to experience a lot of
difficulties from government departments. Any problems you get locally will most
certainly result in your bank accounts frozen especially if your query is with
someone who has a judge as friend. Court cases will normally take years to
resolve a matter.

There is the Consumer Claims Tribunal. If you are in
dispute over a matter with a Maltese businessman or you purchased something from
a shop that when you try it at home it appears to be deffective and not in
working order you could turn to them for help to resolve the matter. The problem
is that when the shop owner is ordered by the tribunal to appear for a hearing
or asked by the tribunal to compensate you he would most probably not do so and
would not turn up for a hearing neither, as he will just ignore all, and you
cannot do a thing as you can see from these newspaper clippings
below.........

AND
The "closed for lunch" attitude does not contribute to
your business. The telephones company Maltacom: some departments are closed for
lunch (who cares). Internet Service Providers: customer care closed for lunch.
What about that transaction you had that was maybe worth lots of money?
ANY
establishment that says they will phone you back on whatever matter will NEVER
return your call. You will most certainly experience this. Even if the company
(small or large business) promised to call you back NO MATTER WHAT
and are involved in earning a bit of money from you, they will not
bother.....WHY?? you say. Because they simply lack the kind of education and
business know how that you are so accustomed to abroad.
Malta is trying to
build a high tech industry on a crumbling infrastructure. Every year companies
have to suffer losses because of water cuts and electricity failures, forcing
production to a standstill.
You will experience
that doing business under candlelight is very tedious indeed not to say
embarrassing when you are entertaining foreign businessmen.
As
will be mentioned further down the page; electricity, water and telephone cuts
happen every week if not everyday.
No one cares if you are in the middle of
work; on computer or otherwise. Maybe some of your expensive machines need time
to shut down and cannot have a sudden power cut. You will definitely experience
this. And a major setback it is. The industry complains that it's loosing orders
and having delays for every hour (or day) that passes. Letters of complaints
takes you nowhere these are normally ignored by ALL places, from government
departments to companies you do business with.
AND
AND
You are never warned in
advance of a power cuts.
What about the water supply cuts? Can be as frequent as
electricity cuts and happens every week if not everyday. Normally one has a
large tank on the roof and this is used as reserve in case of water supply
interruptions. For reasons of water and power interruptions look further
down the page.
Then there are the telephone cuts - so-called
"disruptions". Telephone lines are sometimes damaged by building and road
contractors, engineers etc.
But the "telephone line disruptions" are caused
by maintenance work. Maintenance work on electricity, water and telephone works
has been going on every week for the past......20,30 40, years. Never ending. No
consideration to anybody. No organisation and control exists in Malta. No-one
held accountable.Everyone does what he or she wants.
Then you have the customs departments. These people are there
to cause more problems to your company. They will find a way to extract money
from you. Forms have to be filled for just about anything imaginable. You always
hear about the so called "lost" things. What happens is this. You send for some
boxes full of your stuff from abroad. And they will arrive opened with some of
your things missing or "lost". Depending on what the customs person fancy,
it could be anything really from a painting to toys. You've had it...Now they've
got it. And you CANNOT do a darn thing. Then there is the process of customs
clearing of things (could be anything for your company to work efficiently, from
an electronic spare to raw materials) send to your company but which are always
kept at customs for clearing. Normally these much needed parts arrive directly
at your company if your company is situated in say Germany. This is considered
an emergency, as your company is not operating because of broken parts or lack
of raw materials. And that's how you were accustomed abroad.
In Malta your
things go to customs first. The longer your things are kept at customs the more
you have to pay them. Called rent, we call it extortion, your parts are stuck at
customs for NO reason whatsoever except to extort storage fees or "rent" from
you. But that is not all. You will need customs officers to clear the paperwork
etc. They will normally ask you to come to their offices when they are not
working (could be on weekdays in the afternoon, even on a Saturday) so you pay
them overtime. And still that is not all. A lot of paperwork needs to be stamped
by many government departments depending what you are
importing. Government departments are closed in the afternoon in the summer. And
many other departments, shops etc. are closed for 3 hours for siesta in the
afternoons, summer and winter. Many times the people you are in desperate
need to reach are not in their offices or their phone engaged (it is not unusual
that they are talking to family or friends). It is extremely rare that the
receptionist will connect you with the right person. It is normal that after
waiting for 10 or more minutes to talk to someone you get cut off, as
switchboards seem to be always faulty. You really need to talk to established
businesses to check for yourself.
By nature of their business bank clerks must not disclose any
information regarding your bank account to anyone without a court order.
Confidentiality is non-existent. They will reveal your account status to close
friends and relatives. So forget confidentiality. Malta is too small for that.
Everyone knows each other here.

Normally the post is
delayed or ignored completely if it rains until the next day (if it stops
raining).
If a postman delivering a letter cannot find the corresponding
street he just put this letter in someone else's post-box.
It is normal that
whenever a post office (main or otherwise), grocers, shops in general feel like
having a day off (closed all day) for any reason whatsoever, they have no
decency to leave a notice outside their business to inform when they will open
again. Sometimes letters are opened or taken if they seem to contain something
hard. This makes the postman think that it's a present of some sort and he/she
will just take it.
Malta is famous for it's incompetence and
disorganisation in any sector, private or public.
AND

AND
Expect a lot of grief.
Generally the Maltese people are not proud of their work. As long as it is
functional it's all right. As an example: if a car door does not close properly
and so is half-open, it does not matter as long as the car still works. Expect a
lot of grief from just about any sector.

WATER BOARD
On paper everything looks nice and in order but in reality, well. Malta has 4 reverse osmosis plants. This should give good clean drinking water, but. Whenever one fills a bathtub the bathroom smells chlorine gas. After a bath some people complain of itching all over. People cannot drink it, cannot do tea or coffee or even cook with it. They buy bottled water all of the time. It is a daily burden, buying water for a family of four or more. You often need to carry 15 litres of water and that is quite heavy if you consider there is the shopping too. But water from reverse osmosis plants should be good to drink, you say. We agree. But.
An ex water department engineer explained why the water tastes bad. It seems that the water department does not change the filter systems and membranes at specified time intervals. Why? Any of the four reasons; 1st. because there is no money to buy filters, or 2nd. by using the filters longer than the specified time for changing, the government saves money on filters, or 3rd because it's too much of a bother and too much work to change them and 4th there is no filters so why bother. This person says that the second reason is more viable i.e. using the same filters over and over again. And by doing so people are purchasing bottled water that generates taxes etc. Most water boreholes are contaminated now. We heard of a man throwing 4 litres of car oil in the water borehole so that the pumping mechanism will get lubricated. How stupid can they be. So now we know why the water is bad. So what about water supply cuts? Like electricity cuts, it happens weekly if not daily in towns and villages. Building and road contractors carelessly damage pipes when they are working. Normally one has a large tank on the roof and is used as reserve in case of water supply interruptions. Now what is happening to the money generated from water bills. Well read on and you will find out.

AND THE USUAL disorganisation, incompetence, inefficiency and everything half done. ![]() ![]() After 8 weeks the pavement still looks like this. Who cares. |
ELECTRICITY BOARD
What about the electricity supply? How many times we had to work
under a paraffin lamp this year? We think 5 times already. You experience this
every year, summer and winter. Come rain or a little wind and there goes the
electricity. The usual excuse from the electricity board is that the wind cut
the cables or too many air-conditions are on. So why didn't they thought of that
before? Why didn't they foresee that in
the future more people will afford to buy air-conditions and so more power is
needed. One doesn't need to be a wizard to foresee something like that. But then
even if they did predict that more power would be needed, the power supply will
still be interrupted and cut off "for maintenance". But the real reason is they
are INCOMPETENT with no discipline and organisation in their work. The structure
of the electric system is badly done. There is the manpower although the
electricity board says that they have only three vans to cover Malta. There is a
new power station. The board promises that failures will not happen again when
the power transformers are repaired and can handle the power needed to run this
country. But when the air conditions go on in the summer, the transformers fail
again and Malta is again without electrical power. Power surges (a sudden flow
of very high electrical current when the national grid is switched on again, but
very bad filtering indeed we say) are normal and we heard of people that had
fridges or television burn or even explode because of that. You will NOT be
compensated NO MATTER WHAT. ![]()
Every year, all year,
there are electricity cuts somewhere in Malta on a weekly if not daily basis.
These weekly/daily power cuts are also brought by the electricity boards'
so
called maintenance work, which cuts the electricity off in towns and
villages with no consideration to the peoples needs or to the industry.
Contractors carelessly damaging the power lines contribute to power cuts too.
Companies, foreign and Maltese are not warned in time of a power cut. Imagine
having some delicate, advanced and very expensive machines that need to stop
gradually at certain speeds. Abruptly shutting the electricity supply will be
catastrophic. The industry complains that it's loosing orders and is having
delays for every hour that passes. The electricity board normally ignores these.
But where does the money generated from the electricity bill go? Well just
continue reading and you'll soon find out.

THE TELEPHONE BOARD
The telephone company Maltacom. Now this company is generating
millions every year. Malta has one of the most expensive telephone calls in
Europe.
The company's telephone operators are always engaged,
probably talking to relatives or friends (like in most departments) so imagine
when in an emergency. People working for this company are rude and
uneducated. It is disorganised and inefficient. Try it and you'll see. No matter
how many computers, PLC's, switchgears etc. they purchase to modernise the
company, it is still prehistoric with a prehistoric mentality. If you suffer
from asthma it will be a killer visiting Maltacoms' offices because although
there is a No Smoking sign at the entrance, the security, the cashiers, clerks
etc. smokes. Very difficult to change a small island's mentality. They will
ignore ANY letter of complaint you send. They don't give a darn. Just like the
water, electricity and gas boards. We asked as to why Maltacom is always
engaged. The person said that at times there is only one person attending
directory operations (unconfirmed). Another said that "They too need to go to
the bathroom sometimes" So a company that makes millions, who
has the most expensive phone calls in Europe, who frequently "disrupts" the
telephone line, who every week bombards you with wrong numbers, who is always
engaged, who pays bad wages (found out about this through a telephone engineer
working on the streets), who will ignore ALL your letters and
complaints.......etc. etc. ![]()

DUMPING SITES, SEWAGE DISCHARGE and POLLUTION
Fortunately we never became ill simply because we don't dare go
swimming (in indoor pools only). Most beaches and shores are polluted now. It is
hazardous to swim in them because of contamination from discharge of raw sewage
and chemicals. Some discharge pipes (drains) are not a mile or two away from the
shore as one tourist thought. Some are by the shore. So if you go swimming and
don't know where the discharge pipes are you will end up covered with raw
sewage. Here no consideration is taken for families, tourists, wildlife etc.
Sewage treatment is almost non existent in Malta. They think that by throwing
all at sea the problem is solved (or hidden). There are a few Maltese that know
where the sewage pipes are but the tourists don't and don't have a clue as to
where he is swimming. As for warning signs. The authorities do erect warning
signs against swimming where and whenever they feel like it.
Sewage outlet just 1 kilometre from Paradise
Bay
Greedy businessmen removed them almost straight
away. Signs like that do not attract swimmers and bathers. The businessman then
cannot sell his ice creams, drinks or sandwiches. So signs are removed instantly
they are put up. No arrests are made probably because no sales of drinks etc.
means no VAT and TAXES for the government.
The mountain (or hill) after you
pass St. Andrews and situated at your left is made of trash. But it is not full
of just any trash. The trash comes from households, hospitals, animal clinics,
chemical industries and factories, building sites, car garages etc etc.Wild
grasses are slowly covering it. It is hazardous to walk on.
A friend who used to work for an animal clinic told us that at 8 in the morning, a few times a week, they go to the site to throw away the sick dead cats, dogs and other animals. Another guy from the hospital says that some parts of bodies which been operated on (removed) are dumped there. This includes tumours as an example. My local garage says that he regularly throws old car oil and batteries etc. and so do other garages. Hazardous, very toxic chemicals are buried there without their appropriate leak proof containers.
When it rains it sips through the dump and out comes a
concoction of toxic liquid straight to the beach, which lies opposite this
"mountain". Gravel is put on the trash to hide it.
Dumping of all kinds of
rubbish is happening everywhere in Malta and which EU Diplomats can not see.
Here are some of the places. Behind the nature reserve at Mellieha, Opposite of
Popeye Village, Marsa near the old abattoir, by the St.Lucia Castle at
Birzebuggia and hundreds of other places.
Dust mainly from limestone
quarries, erection of new buildings and black dust from the power station and
the dumpsite Mahtab is a major problem. Many people suffer from asthma because
of this and many more just with breathing difficulties. Homes get dusty very
quickly. Whenever you go out for walks you need to wash your hair and face when
you come home. Clothes hanged on the roof to dry can get black with dust
easily. Malta has a very dusty environment.
Big industries, factories etc. are not as much separated from
populated areas as one likes. Small-scale businesses are not at all separated
from populated areas. One can have a garage nearby which does electrolysis or is
spray painting cars or furniture. This small scale industry which is normally
next door to your house creates not just noise pollution (which is unbearable in
itself) but chemical (paints and spirits) fumes that mix with the air you breath
and which comes in your house in abundance. You can not complain to the
authorities because they will have given the workshop a permit to have that kind
of polluting business in inhabited areas. No one cares. If the polluting
business premises bother your health they just ask you to move
house.

HYGIENE AND SANITATION.
A friend said food-processing factories would not allow visitors in general. They are dirty and smelly. Outside (just a few metres away) of these processing plants it is extremely dirty, with chunks of rotting meat or sausages lying everywhere. The smell in the summer is unbearable. He knows what he's talking about, he works in one of them.
At a food processing plant one worker said that a rat fell in a
tank which was full and ready for processing. When he asked the manager if he
could stop the machines because of a rat in the tank the manager said that they
cant afford throwing all that food away and it WILL be pasteurised anyway so it
wont harm anyone.
It is normal that if you complain at a restaurant they will
spit in your food. We hear this all the time.
It is also normal for a shop
assistant to stop washing the floors and when asked to slice foods they do so
without washing their hands.
It is normal that ham and other foods are off.
They don't know how to handle fruit and vegetables. Because of that you will
only find rotten, soft, wilted and mouldy ones. Truly, the climate is very hot
but with proper management everything can improve. However management and
efficiency is unheard of in Malta. Hospitalising a whole wedding reception as
happened recently because of food poisoning makes one shiver with disgust. And
this is not the first time it happened neither.
Here is a
small article from an English tourist that confirms only the tip of an
iceberg.........
"Staff were clueless and used FLY spray to kill
cockroaches. Food was revolting and cold. We watched them collect unused
milk and return it to the fridge after four hours on tables".
Although the above article happened in a hotel, lack of hygiene is
everywhere as one can read below:
The shop owner will not set the
temperature of the fridge or freezer high enough so he can save money:
Sometimes they put the fridge off for the night. Ham (pre-packed or not)
will only last a day in your fridge then it start to smell. The same goes for
fruit and vegetables. Rarely can you find clean shops. They are normally smelly
and very dirty. The produce is kept at all sorts of temperature variations,
usually they are off before you even buy them.
It is normal that
bread is in an open cardboard box on the floor with flies all around:
There is no protection against the insects (flies etc.) or the dust produced
by sweeping the floors or by people walking in and out of the shop and which
settles on the bread.
A container arriving in Malta which is full of
food:
for example: margarine should be given priority and dispensed
quickly or at least it should be connected to a power outlet so that the
temperature inside the container would stay stable and the food would not turn
bad. Many times this is not done. Frozen vegetables are usually defrosted and
frozen again a few times before they're in your freezer. Margarine is melted in
a container without the proper temperature. The margarine becomes hard again at
the foodstore's fridge. And you wouldn't know this is happening. Then there is
the power cuts. Shopkeepers would not throw thawed food away mainly because of
greed but also because of the constant power interruptions (one cannot afford to
continuously throw food away). NO ONE CARES.
We followed a meat
delivery van to its destination:
When the driver opened the back
door to step in, we looked at the inside and were horrified. The floor of the
van was extremely dirty. The driver stepped in with his shoes on (with no
protection like a shoe bag; the ones he use to walk the streets, doesn't matter
if a while back he might have stepped on dog or cat dirt) to get frozen meats.
He threw the meat on the van floor so he can reach them from the outside and do
his delivery.
Buying sandwich meats or cheeses by loose
weight:
After handling money, dusting and cleaning, washing the
floors or picking their nose a shop assistant or shopkeeper will slice the food
your want without the least taught of washing or putting protective gloves on
their hands.
Although smoking:
is not allowed in food
stores many shop owners and the Maltese smoke on the premises.
Hygienic Maltese people .....or is it the authorities' fault?
We easily find these greedy and dirty culprits so why can't the
government send some people to investigate like we do. If we can do it so can
the state. We can only report their doings. So why don't the state do something
about it? The state has the people and the power, inspectors could be send and
issue fines on the spot.
No the state cannot do it because there is no
willingness to enforce the laws here. As you should know by now, everyone does
what he or she likes. Like this delivery company below....
We have reason to believe that at least 55% of
ALL food stores (grocers, butchers etc.) shut off their fridge and freezers when
they close for the day. The appliances are put on again in the morning. This
practice has been going on for years so greedy storekeepers can save on
electricity bills. Does the E U allow this?
Because of greed, shopkeepers always order just under the amount of
goods needed to supply the population. This is practised in all commercial
outlets from an ironmonger, household commodities to a food store. For example,
by doing so, foodstore owners won't have any leftovers on their shelves, as all
will be sold out. Basically if you don't do your shopping at 7 am you will not
find milk or cream or bread, for the reason mentioned above. If you are used to
buy a certain brand of margarine or anything really, and your local supplier
runs out it will take anything up to six months to see that brand again on the
shelves. And that is if you are lucky because most of the time the supplier
changes to another brand. This happens in all food product outlets. Even in
other outlets like ironmongers, household commodities stores etc. Blame the
wholesalers if you wish because they too contribute to this mess by not
importing enough goods. Inefficiency and disorganisation but greed takes first
place here.
Customer care is non existent in Malta. Shopkeepers are very rude
and mean at times and will overcharge you when there is an opportunity to do so.

SAFETY
Non-existent in Malta. Few years ago, 3 drain workers went down
to open a drain and never made it. They died of toxic fumes.
Where were the
protection masks and clothing? There weren't any.
We have been informed by a
dependable source that safety equipment which has been passed by quality control
abroad is not purchased by the Maltese authorities because it makes them more
expensive to buy for Malta. The government prefers to buy the cheaper variant
which has not passed through good quality control. This for us is a gross safety
risk and very irresponsible by the government to knowingly issue workers with
untested helmets and clothing.
Because of lack of education and training,
road workers do not realise the need for proper road markings.
At total
darkness of the night, a man drove straight into a bulldozer. The bulldozer was
parked in darkness with no warning signs whatsoever. Many streetlights do
not function at all. The reason given by most Maltese people is that the
government doesn't want to bother with them because no lights means less energy
needed. So there is a money saving opportunity for the state here. Who cares if
you see at night.
An island in the middle of a road was being prepared
with stone and concrete. The road workers did not bother with warning signs
after the day's work. So the island was all in the dark. A few drivers not
realising the new island in the middle of the road were badly hurt as they
crashed straight into it.

INFRASTRUCTURE
Needs a complete build-up.
They are trying to build a high
tech industry on a crumbling infrastructure. Every year companies in Malta have
to suffer losses because of water cuts and electricity failures, forcing
production to a standstill. It is not just the simple ordeal of falling
and tripping while walking on broken pavements. We see that all the time. A
friend even bandaged a German woman after she fell because of a broken pavement.
He heard a person saying that she should not wear high heel shoes. A partner
sprained his foot many times. He said his wife tripped and fell on her back
twice. He added that when his children were small they tripped and bruised
themselves all the time because children don't look down when they're walking,
they just go.
And it is not the black dust that comes from the power
plant and onto our clothes, into our houses and into our lungs. A good filtering
system could prevent all this misery. The misery of people who suffer with
asthma and other breathing difficulties. And the black dust that has to be
cleaned every single day. Malta has one of the highest rate of breathing
diseases in the world.
And it is not just the evil smells that the people of
Mahtab have to live with day after day, year after year. The smell is foul and
persistent. People would not open their windows in the heat of a summer's night
because of the burnt and acrid smells. There are people in Mahtab that suffer
greatly because of this. People who cannot breath properly any more. Some have
abandoned their houses, which was bought through hard-earned money. This is
GROSS NEGLIGENCE of the state. ![]()
It does not matter if it is the labour government in power
with their "Switzerland of the Mediterranean" slogan". Aren't you, the labour,
ashamed of other countries hearing you saying this? Have you been to
Switzerland? How could you compare such a beautiful country with Malta? We feel
stupid even to mention it. How can you even think of such words. Shame on
you.
And it does not matter if the nationalists are in power.
ANY Maltese government (any party which is in power), does not
really care except for their own well being.
And it is not the overflow of raw sewage because of bad drainage system
at Salinas, Mellieha, Valletta and Msida.
And maybe not even when it rains a
whole 5 minutes that you need a boat to cross from one road to another not just
in Msida but anywhere in Malta. It is typical that drainage overflows when it
rains in Malta and so it mixes with the rainwater in the streets - imagine the
ordeal, the stink and the mess.
It wasn't the monsoon exactly
but the infrastructure, the draining system is in a mess.
The country is
built with shoddiness and cheapness: taste and style is a foreign objective that
doesn't need (and don't want) to be pursued. Pride in workmanship -
non-existent. Things: vending machines, toilets, telephones, drainage, most of
the time don't work. There is an inescapable air of decrepitude and neglect,
broken streets and sewers, unrepaired buildings and fetid smells. Malta is
extremely dirty. ![]()
And if a bus approaches
you, you have to run for cover. Yes cover your nose and eyes from diesel fumes
thrown at you. Buses are so outdated and so very polluting that in other
countries they would be made illegal to use.
No it is not one of the above
but all of the above need doing. What is the point of closing chapter after
chapter of the EU obligatory points if the most important things that need to be
dealt with will stay as they are?

CRIME
One does not expect a high crime rate on such small island. In
fact many tourists believe that Malta is crime free probably because of it's
size and the "friendly" way foreigners are greeted by the hypocrites. But crime
free it is not. So let us see what it has to offer.
A rape by 3 youths on a
foreign girl.
Another violent attach on 2 boys.
An indecent assault on a 17 year old German
tourist. The villain gets £300 fine and a 3 years probation for this

CORRUPTION
A friend said that it is almost a custom to prepare an envelope
with £M20, 30, 40 whatever, when you are expecting a government person. This
person could be from just about any department (the amount could be much higher
depending on the reasons or favours involved sometimes into the hundreds of
pounds).
Favours - extended endurance of obligations that are features
of the Maltese people are readily realisable in such small and interconnected
social systems.
We have been hearing lately that the tourist authority
employs more than enough people and these have hardly anything to do at work. It
is the custom that relatives or close friends are employed first and foremost.
Even when a vacancy notice is given out to the general public as law dictates.
We know of persons who applied for a job who were not qualified to do the work
and also know persons who had years of experience and an unqualified person got
the job with no problem whatsoever. Why? Because they knew someone working at
the government department who issued the vacancy notice.
So similarly, the
outcome of a job application depends mainly on the actual kinship, political
allegiance, favours etc. that have nothing to do with the qualification needed
to perform the requirements of the post. This is most disturbing for the person
who has just graduated and is applying for a post.
Through these pages we
kept saying as to where the money of the bills you pay like the electricity or
the road tax go. There are over 40000 government employees. What about the
planning and environment departments who together has a workforce of 400.
![]()
With such a large
workforce you shouldn't see any illegalities like:
illegal buildings,
boathouses, garages etc., illegal hunting and illegal dumping right? Wrong. Just
look around you. What are they really doing these 400 workers?
Like we said
there are over 40000 government employees and the wages needed to cover this
massive number is so great that a big part of the government income has to go
for salaries. Thousands of these workers have absolutely nothing to do. They are
just there as favours, close friends and relatives who need a job.
And what
about the Malta Environment and Planning Authority? Read these newspaper
clippings.
AND
You don't need to investigate...just look around you....the
hundreds of illegally erected buildings. Garages, beach huts and seaside
buildings, hunting blinds, gates, rooms in the countryside etc
etc.
A friend
said that imported goods i.e. foods, general hygiene stuff like washing powders
etc., machinery etc.must have instructions written in English. This is not so as
most things you purchase are normally with Italian instructions or in some other
language. Import agents who collect their goods at the ports normally give a
small bribe to the official to let the goods through. No strict law enforcement
is present to get ride of this obvious corruption.
A very dependable source
has said that some policemen are so badly paid that they sell the drugs they
confiscate (look at newspaper clipping above). We are even hearing that
some policemen are selling their uniforms too (look at newspaper clipping
below).
A Maltese mystery. A container arriving from the Netherlands and
supposedly filled with hundreds of cases of water was found to contain about 700
cases of alcohol when the customs seized it. Somehow this 20 foot container
disappeared and never to be found. So we asked a friend if the Sicilian Mafia
operates here. His answer was...."Who needs the Mafia we've got the Government,
that should be enough" We understand what he meant after we talked to shop
owners who imported electric bikes, paid their taxes and VAT's etc. and then
there was a ban on these bikes. Now they are stuck with them.
A customs official helped a government consultant who worked
at the ministry of social policies to take out a package containing 3-kg cocaine
from a post office.
And one of the biggest corruption case in Malta's history
was when the Bank of Valletta gave a loan of about £M 7,000,000 to Paola Motor
Ltd, an automobile dealer, knowing that this same company was in trouble. A year
or two later this company was declared bankrupt with the liquidators' report
showing assets of just £M 600,000. No one knows what happened to the rest, which
was approximately £M 6,000,000. Could this large sum of money disappeared in the
pockets of the owner of the car company, the finance minister and the bank
director? Maybe and maybe not.
| A little about Maltese
bullying (But not as you know it) ![]() ![]() Bullies here mean anyone in government and the Maltese living in Malta. Why? Let's take an example.... If you are driving and you meet a car coming the opposite way in this one way road that you are in, and you would not oblige by reversing all the way up this road so the culprit in his car (or horse with carriage for that matter) can pass illegally, you most certainly will end up with a black eye or worse. He/she can afford to do this because they know the law will not protect you. Everyone does what he or she wants here. Another example this time from ANY government department. Let us say that you applied to the planning authority for an extended doorway and you need planning permission to do the work. They will ask you the width and you say 3 meters. Now comes the bullying. They will tell you that you can't have the doorway's width wider than 2 meters. You say why. The answer is usually "because I say so". There is no paragraphs written no laws to abide with just the person in charge. Now the law might say no large doorways are allowed. And there are no specifications written. So you depend on the discretion of the man in charge. And naturally bribery here is involved all of the time. arbitrary. That was Maltese bullying. |

Special Report from Malta Today PN closed it's eyes as corruption and fraud continued If proof was needed that the Nationalist Government's
position on corruption is weak and primitive, then the special report in
today's edition of this newspaper can be described as just that. Today, MaltaToday confirms how Lorry Sant forcibly asked a
long-suffering individual to acquire loans from banks without any
security. The individual was issued a handsome loan for plots which
belonged neither to him nor to his interlocutor and which were subject to
a prohibitory injunction. Lorry Sant and Piju Camilleri were later
presented with the loan in cash instalments or by cheque. |

| AND WHAT ABOUT THIS ONE..... Chief justice and a judge granted bail on bribery and charged for corruption (from The Malta Independent of 5-08-02) |
HYPOCRISY and MEANNESS
The Maltese, friendly, generous, kind, church going people are
the biggest hypocrites.
Excluding the odd intellectual and
educated (but not necessarily), some are uncivilized and quite
uneducated.
They do not know how to
present themselves in public or at dinners. They think they are special and
think they have the best country in Europe if not the world (what jokers). They
have no consideration when it comes to animal suffering. Some kill animals for
fun (look at the dog and swallow massacre at the bottom). They are greedy,
selfish and hypocritical. They don't give a darn about nature or anything
else.
It is normal that they will
shoot at your car (at will) when you are in the countryside just because you are
there and hunters don't
like that.
The burning of dogs (and cats) as we
mentioned earlier surely shows how cruel some Maltese can be.
2 dogs were set
loose on a German family walking in the country. One dog bit their boy. They
told us that the farmer stood there watching and did not bother to stop the
dogs. How friendly the Maltese are.
Just so they can get ALL the business for
themselves they will
>>>>>>>>>>>>>
But these people attend mass on Sunday and start all over
again on Monday with their bad doings.
What about asylum seekers. You just
have to read Mr. O'Flaherty's article to get an idea on how they are treated.
Some actually end up in a mental hospital because of the strain and the Maltese
hospitality.
AND
We say to Mr. O'Flaherty that YES, hospitality is shown
with grandeur as long as tourists or anyone for that matter can show
a wallet
full of money.
A dog bit a tourist pensioner on a country walk. The owner let
him out "for fun" after the tourist. The Maltese hunters and farmers dislike
tourists and Maltese walking in the country.
During the credit card ordeal
many tourists were without money because the ATM machines did not work for a
whole week. One tourist family said that no one would offer any help. Not the
grocers or general stores...NO ONE.
Friendly as long as you can show hard
cash.
What about the swallow, lark and buzzard massacres (look at the bottom
of page)?
A friend said that every autumn he knows of people that go out at
sea and shoots plenty of birds of prey. He said he has seen 2 sacks full of dead
buzzards and some harriers. This is happening on a regular basis in every
autumn, every year.
One of our associates managed to catch a person actually
throwing bags of shot larks in the rubbish. He asked as to why does he do that?
He said, "for practise and for fun and that there is nothing else to shoot on so
what am I suppose to do?"
If wildlife is merely something to shoot at then
that is the grossest lack of mental reasoning. It often represents the
difference between an educated country and just a mere country.
Every spring
we witness a swallow massacre.
And what about
this>>>>>>>>>>>
And the suffering of horses.
Or the caged birds

for lunch. Internet Service Providers: customer care closed for
lunch. What about that transaction you had that is worth maybe lots of
money? SOME PICTURES OF THE SWITZERLAND OF THE
MEDITERRANEAN Do not swim. You might end up itching all over your body

grasses have grown on these hills and make them look natural. They are
not. Be prepared for loads of tyre punctures. The roads are the
worst we've seen. You can't see holes on the road when it rains. So be
prepared. WHAT TOURISTS AND RESIDENTS SAY A letter to the editor of The Times of Malta A year ago we invested our savings in an apartment in Malta and
six months ago we retired here. Do people in authority go around with their eyes closed? We are
too embarrassed to invite friends or family over to see the Third World
conditions we live in. Is Xemxija the rubbish capital of Malta or do you know
different? These are some of the hundreds of complaints we have
. English tourist English tourist English tourist French tourist English tourist English tourist English tourist English living in Malta English tourist COMPLAINTS ABOUT
HUNTING Irish tourist English tourist German tourist English tourist English tourist Overcharging has always been a problem. Everyone
overcharges. Ask first for the price even if it is written on the object. Check
the change in the shop. When the sales people hear you speak a language other
than Maltese they assume you are a tourist. They will cheat you of every penny
you've got if possible. Maltese cheat other Maltese on a daily basis. What do
you think they will do to a tourist? Everyone has to be very careful. For
overcharging extremes read above. COMMENTS ON THE ABOVE Most complaints are on dirt, pollution, roads and the lack of consideration
to fellow drivers and hunting. But are they true? Dirt. Well the pictures above say it all. Dumping
is happening all over the country, anywhere really. We have seen old washing
machines dumped over the Dingli Cliffs. But no one cares. An associate once
asked a person who was throwing a bunch of ad-papers in the street, to pick them
up. He started shouting at him angrily, challenging him for a punch-up. And told
him to look at his country instead. Pollution. Go to
regency road at 7.30 in the morning and you can smell the car fumes all over. Go
to Bahar ic-caq and you can smell that evil smell from the mountain of rubbish
called Mahtab. Many Maltese suffer from asthma because of the pollution in
Malta. Around the Marsa area people have been complaining for ages about the
black dust produced by the power station. The fashion now is to drive with the brakes on so you get the scare of your
life. They love it. They try to push you off the road and it does not matter if
off the road means in a field, the sea or a cliff. The main beam is always on at
night. Who cares if it blinds you, as long as they see well. THE FUTURE At a population of almost 400,000 people (that's well over a
thousand per square kilometre) the future looks not so
pretty. WHO WE ARE Who we are and Why we wrote this. We wrote this article named The Maltafile because we saw
no end to the prehistoric ways this country is run. We saw only total lack
and unwillingness by the state and it's people to improve life on Malta
and it's island. Everyone knows the state is a coward to enforce law and
order because the party in power (whichever party is in power) does not
want to loose votes. Because of them the Maltese islands are and will stay
like a pool of stagnant water. Our aim is to stir this pool. We see no upheaval of the regular power cuts, bad water
and bad sewage systems, the whole infrastructure in general, the bad roads
(roads newly build are a disgrace with everything half done, even the
white road markings start to fade a few weeks later), the dirt and stink,
the illegal buildings (everywhere you look), anarchy on the roads,
everyone does what he/she likes, there is no respect for the law or for
the fellow man. No upheaval of the way things are run; that ever familiar
prehistoric mentality that seem to linger for decade after decade no
matter what type of new technology or education there is. Corruption is
everywhere. The unwillingness to enforce the law by the state on most
things. Dealing with ANY government department (of any party) is like
dealing with a terrible ulcer, dull and extremely painful. No efficiency,
organisation or understanding but the ever-present incompetence that
rules. It is disgusting that things are still the same as they were
decades back. The Maltese think that it changed just because they have DVD
or laptops. So ridiculous indeed. Water, roads, electricity are still like
in the 1940's. Crumbling infrastructure, sewage smells and dirt everywhere
you go. So what has changed? No improvement can be seen in the near
future. In fact it is worse than ever. We've had enough and now it is time to act. We will act
hard, relentless (as with the Ballut Blocks case down below and Maltafile2
and other cases) and efficient (as with all the information we gathered up
above with over 500 pictures and almost 600 emails collected) all the way.
You can read about a new project called the MALTAFILE 2 further down this
page. This will take some time to finish, it will be solely on corruption.
We hope the planning authority is aware of
the responsibilities it has in deciding on a planning application
nevertheless here is what our lawyers said.... The planning authority should be concerned with the way
land is developed and the effect that buildings have on the surroundings.
Also, the intention of a natural and conserved area is that not only will
the features of the area be preserved but also that they will be enhanced
especially if the area which has specially attractive features. It should
be protected against unsuitable development. Although planning
applications had been properly registered with the planning authority the
government namely the planning authority required to give special
attention to the question of the desirability of preserving or enhancing
the character or appearance of an area when deciding on an application for
planning permission. They also must take into account whether the
applicant in part or whole could make any destruction to the surrounding
area, be it natural or otherwise. The group will be asking the courts to force the
named company to built and restore the named valley in it's original state
with soils and plants and rebuilt the demolished valley walls etc.. This
will indemnify the Maltese people wholly and will be accepted by the
group. If the company does not comply to the courts order the group will
sue the aforementioned company and will ask the courts for the sum of not
less than 3.2 million Maltese pounds for the restoration and building of
parts of the named valley. The courts will determine the final sum of
monies to be paid. This money will pay private restorers to do the job.
Any money left over will go to charity. The group is vigorously going to fight this in court, they
have the means and the money to do so. We are dedicating our time and
resources on this matter and on the matter Malta and the MALTAFILE
2. Here are some photographs taken by an architect. Massive parts of the valley wall have collapsed (D1 and D2) due to the
irresponsible The view from the valley itself. Facing northeast, one can easily see
that Ballut Blocks Ltd. has not only destroyed parts of the wall (D1 and
D2) but also land (D 3) belonging to this habitat and situated further
beyond to approximately 400 meters. A hole (D 4) has been filled with loose rubble from the quarry side.
This will eventually We are in deep gratitude and thank wholeheartedly the
people at : http://www.itranquil.net/ , http://www.fortunecity.com/ , http://www.tripod.com/ , for providing us with webspace for these pages and for letting
us express a fundamental right which is the core of democracy "The Freedom

Usually the Maltese leave their rubbish behind after a
picnic. Do not ask them to pick it up or you end up with a black eye (like
one of us experienced). You can report with the registration number of
their car to the local police but 99 out of a 100 they won't bother. They
dump rubbish wherever possible and it doesn't matter if it harms you
or the surrounding nature. They have this believe that as long as it is
not on their doorstep then it's all right. It's illegal but it's all
right.
Be prepared for loads of tyre punctures. The roads are the worst I've

PAVEMENTS ANOTHER DISGRACE
If you trip and hurt yourself someone is bound to
tell you that you shouldn't have worn high-heeled shoes.

Since then we have seen Xemxija deteriorate
rapidly. Unfinished buildings everywhere and builders rubble in the streets give
the appearance of a war ravaged country, litter covers every green area and
roadside and we see cockroaches everywhere, the beach is a disgrace and the
smell is disgusting. There is not a decent road and the pavements are virtually
non existent.
From the Times of Malta Written
by Mr. E. Wade
Danish tourist
I will never come back to Malta. The country is very
dirty and the food is expensive.
Dutch tourist
The good service and
politeness on this island is non existent.
English tourist
We came to
enjoy the beach but found we couldn't swim anywhere. Everywhere is
dirty.
Don't go to Malta.
English tourist
Our last visit to Malta
was 15 years ago. We will not come back. Why? Everywhere smells sewage, in fact
at one point my wife almost threw up. The place is over populated now. Exhaust
fumes everywhere. We noticed that the people are less friendly than the last
time we were here. On the positive side, the food was excellent. Bus fares still
the cheapest in Europe. But like I said before we don't think we come back to
Malta.
English tourist
I rented a car when I was in Malta. It was a
nightmare. Everyone drives like mad. I have found that the Maltese are very
selfish indeed in the traffic.
Malta Bargains are rubbish rubbish rubbish. Our reps were
never there, rude and unwilling to deal with complaints. We were sold a trip to
the fiesta, but arrived after the fiesta had ended, another trip was to see Gozo
but all we saw were shops.
Mahtab man
We cannot open a window in the
summer because the smell coming from the rubbish dump at Mahtab is so strong and
bad. It is like plastic and rotten meat slowly burning together.
Holiday was spoilt by the owner/head waiter of the
Neptune's Restaurant at the sea front at Marsalforn. We weren't very hungry so
we chose one fish to share. We asked for half a bottle of wine and he said he'd
give us a full bottle for the same cost. The fish arrived and he offered to
remove the bones for us. When he asked us for eighteen pounds (a normal full
meal with wine usually costs less than ten) .Our mistake was to pay, without
seeing an itemised bill first. We queried why it cost so much and eventually we
got a receipt and with some more insistence got a fictitious bill, which said,
we'd had two 'mixed fish' at seven pounds each. He'd also charged us for a full
bottle of wine!!! His reaction to this was disgusting, he jeered at us, and lied
through his teeth and once even threatened us with a barstool. ! Ask the prices
beforehand, insist on an itemised bill BEFORE you part with any money.
German tourist
Indicator lights are non-existent in this lawless
country. I do not recommend Malta. There are other places much nicer and
cleaner.
Maltese man
I know, the country smells bad but we love it
that way.
French tourist
Malta the most beautiful country? Keep on
dreaming. I will not come back.
Dutch tourist
Why are the cash
machines always faulty? It is the year 2003 and not 1903 you

English tourist
We stayed in Sliema. We went around Malta twice
and found it too noisy, smell of sewage and very dirty, Sliema was a disgrace.
Digging and dust wherever we go.
American tourist
And they say New
York is a rat race. Go to Malta. Driving in Malta is hell everyone thinks they
are race drivers. Rushing and driving you almost off the road. Night driving is
the worst. Everyone seems to like having the main beam on. They are selfish and
inconsiderate. As long as they can see while driving it's all fine. The food is
very expensive, the service non-existent, the hygiene unheard of. But they bake
some good bread. I find that important. Hell, what is life without bread, right?
English tourist
The hospital is a dump. Go private.
Dutch
tourist
There is not a minute of peace and quiet on Malta. It is absolutely
not a relaxing holiday.
Yes it is very dirty. We rented a car and when we
stopped at a stop sign someone hit us from the back.We will not come
back.
German tourist
Horrible country. I will not come back.
One night we decided to eat at the hotel Pizzeria and
ended up walking out! The food when it arrived was wrong, over cooked, poorly
made and generally inedible! Do not go to Malta!
English tourist
The
hotel was classified as 4 star accommodation. In my opinion it should be a 2
star due to the following reasons:
1) Accommodation extremely basic even
though we had upgraded to a "superior room". It was tiny with useless
air-conditioning, it blew hot air around the room.
2) Upgraded to a so-called
sea-view room, when we pulled back the curtains our "view" was of the concrete
roof from the restaurant below and large air-conditioning ducts.
3) The hotel
was poorly maintained all over - there were broken sunbeds, scaffolding poles
were used to keep up terrace roofs, and the amphitheatre was a concrete shell
with uneven flooring and very badly painted. The "private beach" had sharp
foreign objects in and was unsafe to walk on and the water sports that everyone
else was glad about had vanished during our stay. Not a soul in sight.
4) The
food was inedible. Hardly any choice, cold, watery and tasteless. Presentation
was extremely poor - an example for you - the dessert was Kiwis cut in half and
a tub of melting ice-cream.
Loads of other things wrong whilst we were there.
Everyone was complaining and although the staff was very friendly and helpful a
miracle was needed to turn this back into a 4 star hotel.
English
tourist
As we touched down at Malta Airport, I thought we'd caught the wrong
plane. At no point did I say I wanted to go to what looked like Beirut (albeit
there weren't any fighter jets around). But, no, the hostess confirmed that this
was indeed Malta. I could feel a long week coming on. After a surreal coach
journey (they use old English Charabancs) and the roads have no markings, lines
or traffic lights. Driving seems to involve careering around at high speed,
hooting all the while and the winners survive. I was in abject terror. We finally
booked into the hotel, which advertised as having disabled facilities. This
involved 4 house bricks under each leg of the bed to make it higher. Luckily, at
this point I was physically OK, just stunned at what I'd seen. We went to a
restaurant for a meal. As the waiter brought the food up, the ash off his
cigarette fell onto the food. Now, I'm a smoker and not obsessive, but I tend to
use an ashtray, not bacon and eggs. Then, I made a mistake - I went into the
toilet. The flushing was not working so a bucket was provided. We left the
premises.
That was the start of the most chaotic days of my life.
Malta reminds me of Bombay in miniature form. If you like
the smells, the rush, loads of traffic, pollution, noise and overpopulation than
I recommend Malta.
English tourist
Why is that every time I come to
Malta there is an electricity failure? Do I bring bad luck?
Went to this run down hotel for Christmas, what a disgrace
to the Maltese nation this place is.The food is not fit for pigs let alone
humans, the whole hotel smells musky, the rooms are like large toilets. Bed
linen and towels stained!! Enough to give you the screaming haddabs. The staff
is a joke, won't talk to you let alone help, if you have a problem they will
just tell you to move elsewhere.
This must be the worst hotel in Malta we
don't think we could find another to match this HOLIDAYS FROM HELL. Beat this if
you can.
English tourist
Glad to be home what a nightmare this
so-called hotel is, don't go to this hotel if you want a good holiday. You will
not be given any respect by the owners or staff, all they think of is your
money, the place is the PITTS, worse than any hotel from HELL, the place needs a
good makeover, new beds and bed linen, towels everything is stained, and it's a
wonder that nobody has had food poisoning yet. As for the resort no good, out of
the way and nothing to do. Would we go back? Not to this HELL HOLE, at any
price.
English tourist
NEVER GOING BACK, CAN FIND A BETTER HOLIDAY
THAN THIS AND CHEAPER.
English tourist
Now the big question. Will we
go back?
I doubt if we will go back to Malta. Why?
Mainly because of the
overkill on their religion and the anomaly that if they are so religious and
pious why are so many ordinary Maltese people that you meet in shops, markets,
buses, the hotel etc--- so downright rude, cheats, liars and surly to
tourists?
Italian tourists
Don't go to a night-spot called Paceville
if you don't want to be beaten.
The food was terrible (we were half board but ended up
eating out), the bathroom smelled of sewage, as did the very small lifts, the
swimming pool was so murky you could not see the bottom and the sun beds were
lined up so closely you barely had room to turn over. Luckily we hired a car and
spent our holiday sightseeing and on the beach, incidentally we saved about
eighty pounds sterling by NOT hiring our car through the holiday reps.
The walls in the room were crumbling, sewage was in the
pool & around the hotel, locals were allowed to use the pool as a lido,
breakfast was served in the dingy open for all cafe which was full of flies
& dinner was buffet.
A lawless country. Most of the roads are bad. When
it rains it floods everywhere and the roads became worse. New tyres did not
help, I had 2 punctures in 1 week. Sliema is awful, very dirty and noisy. There
isn't a place to park.
Driving can be a bit hazardous even though they drive on
the left. They say that locals always drive in the shade, and some of them do!
The roads are not very good, especially the ones off the main highways. So again
be warned.
We were disappointed to find quite a lot of rubbish left about by
the locals in most places we visited, especially on the popular beaches and this
we found quite off-putting.

Please sent this
complaint to the representatives of the Maltese Government in protest at the
continuing hunting of birds. I will not tourist in Malta again as long as this
bird massacre continues.
I die before I'll set foot in Malta and I shall be
encouraging everyone I know, whether they're interested in birds or not, to
boycott the country and it's tourist industry until they stop shooting these
helpless birds.
I wish to protest the slaughter of birds in Malta.
We
were planning a trip to Malta but now we will visit only countries that do not
condone barbaric practices.
German tourist
I heard of the mass
shooting on swallows years back and I can't believe it's still going on. I will
not holiday there ever again.
I support your campaign on Malta with my signature if
needed. It completely disgusts me what's going on in there.
What the Maltese are doing in Malta and in Egypt is
barbaric. I will never visit the island again.
Finland tourist
If
someone in my country shoots a bird of prey he will have to pay a fine of about
700 Maltese pounds or more and the gun license taken. What do you get in
Malta?
We have been getting reports about the slaughter of birds
of prey not only in Malta but also in Egypt by Maltese hunters.
What is the
Maltese government doing about this? I know of at least 7 people who are not
holidaying in Malta this year until something is
done.
OTHER COMPLAINTS:
No there is no peace and quiet
in Malta. On the contrary. If you complain they tell you to go to
a cemetery. The police will not help. If you complain to them about noise or any
disturbance they will ask you to move house. Because the Maltese start work
early, you will certainly wake up from building work close to your hotel or
apartment.
Digging of cable trenches and the constant building of
houses which in turn produce a lot of dust and noise is done on a daily basis.
Everywhere you go there is someone building or digging. They have been using
green area for building even though there isn't much left. But
corruption rules in Malta. It is normal that whenever
a post office (main or otherwise), grocers, shops in general feel like having a
day off (closed all day) for any reason whatsoever, they have no decency to
leave a notice outside their business to inform as to when they will open again.
Sometimes you hear someone complaining that letters are opened or taken if they
seem to contain something hard. This makes the postman think that it's a present
of some sort and he/she will just take it. But you always hear about the
so-called "lost" things. What happens is this. You send for some boxes full of
your stuff from abroad. And they will arrive opened with some of your things
missing or "lost". Depending on what the customs person fancies, it could
be anything really from a painting to toys. You've had it...Now they've got it.
And you CANNOT do a darn thing.
Malta is
famous for it's inefficiency and disorganisation in any sector,
private or public. ![]()
Expect a lot of grief.
Generally the Maltese people are not proud of their work. They have no shame on
what they offer. Just read this small article from an English
tourist..........."We stayed at Palm Court last week (feb). It was a
basic holiday and we expected a basic hotel and basic food. What we got was a
nice reception area but damp ridden hotel, cockroaches in the bedrooms,
restaurant and swimming pool. Staff were clueless and used FLY spray to kill
cockroaches. Food was revolting and cold. We watched them collect up unused milk
and return it to the fridge after four hours on tables. The electrics were in
places dangerous".
As long as it is functional it's all right.
As an example: if a car door does not close properly and so is half-open, it
does not matter as long as the car still works. Expect a lot of grief from just
about any sector. But can the Maltese do anything right?
Unfortunately the sad answer is NO (see above and below). Why?
Because of lack of discipline, civic education,
competence, organisationsolidarity, teamwork and efficiency that other countries
in Europe pride themselves with. Even a simple school certificate is given the
wrong results as one can see here below and that the parents had to file a
judicial protest in the civil court against the University of Malta
etc.
![]()
AND
AND
Although Malta has reverse osmosis, which should
produce and supply the country with good drinking water, it does not, because of
the reasons mentioned above. The water is terrible so you need to buy bottled
water all the time. We find this unacceptable. Companies need to be prepared for
power cuts too. A power cut will result when there is a storm or a little
wind
gust or when the system is overloaded with air-conditions being switched
on in the summer. So-called maintenance etc. will also result in a power cut. No
point complaining in Malta. No one gives a darn. The Maltese are by tradition
Roman Catholics. But this is by name only. They try to cheat and rip your shirt
off if they can. You see them attending mass on a Sunday. But the grossly
hypocritical folk will corrupt and cheat come Monday. They all pretend to be
friendly as one has heard so many times abroad about the Maltese people. Because
of the small island they live in, because natural resources are almost
non-existent, because Malta is so populated, and that everyone knows each other,
it goes without saying that they do not trust each other. They are very
suspicious of one another. They are greedy and they are cheaters. You have to
be, to survive on such a small island. For the simple reason that there is no
resources. The little things they can get, let it be from overcharging,
corruption, cheating etc. is welcomed. We call this the Small Island Survival
Syndrome (SISS). This is unacceptable in a modern society.
In Malta
everything is political; politicians would not dare introducing new laws because
they are afraid of loosing on votes. Malta is small, everyone knows each other.
Imagine the policeman who give out fines what will happen to him? A traffic
warden was murdered because she was doing her duty. One very important
thing is missing from Malta, and that is solidarity. Solidarity
within the police and strict enforcement of the law is unheard of.
So everyone do what one
wants. A cowboy country really. And this is mainly because it's an island with
habits that are hard as stone to crack and traditions hundreds of years old and
also because of it's size (the SISS mentioned above). If a friend of a friend
working in a bank can disclose a companies bank account status or for that
matter any other persons, you can imagine how easy it is to find where the
policeman or traffic warden who gave you a fine lives. This is an absolute
disgrace.
All raw sewage is pumped into the seas around Malta.
Consideration in traffic. Does not exist in Malta.
![]()
And off course an idiot thinks that the Maltese are the best
drivers in Europe as one can see from this Times of Malta clipping below and he
continue by saying that the dog is sitting on the driver too. What an
idiot.
AND
Parked on a zebra crossing (above). And by the police station too.
Who cares.
What gets us is when we see a driver purposely driving through a
paddle of water to make a pedestrian soaking wet. They do this regularly when it
rains. And believe us THEY LOVE IT. They love to see you all wet, screaming and
swearing. They get a kick, you get a ruined coat. Do not be surprised if while
over-taking a car another is over-taking you, from the right or left depending
on how the driver feels. Indication usage is non-existent. Maltese drivers do
not use indication lights and don't care about double white lines. Some even
overtake you when you are doing a 90 degrees turn, actually turning with you. No
consideration whatsoever....(uneducated, inconsiderate) so BE VERY CAREFULL.
Some Maltese idiots suggest to do like the Romans do, when in Rome.......would
that be any better? Here is some clippings from the local newspapers

The roads are
a disgrace. The money from road and petrol taxes seems not to be
enough. But in the last 10 years or so roads could and should have been
improved.
AND

But the money is
needed to pay the thousands of wages to government workers. Over 40,000 men and
women are employed there. Many got the job as favours to others although there
is no work for them. One friend said that less than half is needed to do the
job. He said that many have nothing to do except phoning family and/or friends
for a chat from the government office where they "work" just to pass the time.
So bad roads are a big problem for Malta. The Maltese are used to them but
tourists hate it. What about road contractors, the road builders? These people
don't have the manpower, they have very old machinery, are lazy, incompetent and
most importantly they lack the know-how. And we should mention disorganisation
and inefficiency too.
AND
New roads usually are brought back to the same conditions (especially
after it rains) as before because they simply can't build roads in Malta.
Where in Africa a 500 km road takes up to 8 years to built, here a 2 km stretch
takes over 3 years. At this pace it will take Malta over 700 years to build a
500km road.
The buses. Old from the pre war era,
many vandalised with torn seats and a shamefully dirty interior. In a bus one is
constantly breathing in exhaust fumes. The suspension is murder and you arrive
at your destination (that is if the bus is not involved in an accident created
by mad driving or an engine failure) with aches and pains all over. The No
Smoking sign is completely ignored by bus drivers and if you complain you
WILL be thrown off the bus. Hunting. Don't go to the
countryside when it's the hunting season or you end up fighting with some
trapper or hunter who is trying to make public land his own. Your rented car
WILL be shot at as a warning. Hunting laws are written but never practised. We
talked to many tourists who have experienced some kind of massacre on swallows
or larks and even buzzards.
Corruption hinders the few restrictions for new
buildings. Because if you pay well enough you can literary build wherever you
wish. You can see small rooms in fields (and the so-called boathouses)
everywhere. They are built illegally.
If a room were removed by the state after 8 years; the owner
would have enjoyed it for free for 8 years. So there is nothing to loose, no
fines no anything except for maybe the £M300 removal fee and
that is not much considering you enjoyed a room by the beach for 8 years. People
are taking large areas of fields and hills and set up a gate with the words
PRIVATE on it. Naturally this is illegal and the authorities do nothing. The
nations labour force is highly disorganised and inefficient.

The country is
built with shoddiness and cheapness: taste and style is a foreign objective that
doesn't need (and don't want) to be pursued. Pride of workmanship non-existent.
Things: vending machines, toilets, telephones, drainage, most of the time don't
work. There is an inescapable air of decrepitude and neglect, broken streets and
sewers, unrepaired buildings and fetid smells. Malta is extremely dirty.
People should just accept that Malta is
still a third world country
and not pretend that it is something else.
AND

Disorganisation, lack of
control, inefficiency and the unwillingness to enforce very high fines to
culprits results in a country of a shameful state. The Maltese people have no
pride in their work.
As long as what they do is functional then it's okay.
But as long as you have a ticket then it's
okay.
AND ![]()
Everything they do is half done and looks extremely messy.
Just look around you. It's free to do what they like,
example....draining
pipe from buildings straight over and to the pavement (you get showered with
dirty water), or to the roads instead of a proper draining system. Large or
small, very high or low pavements or none at all. As they like really,

because there is no control
over what they do and how they do things. This was just a little
example.
This newspaper
clipping is from a man complaining about the airport shutting down it's runways
for a fireworks display. What a joke.
So with this kind of attitude the
country will stay in a sorry state. Like it has always been. . But there is a
solution to that too. Solidarity within the police and strict enforcement of
law.
We expect that in a few more years, the relatively wild areas left like
the Armier and surrounding areas will become like Mosta, Bugibba, St.Pauls etc.
with apartments, hotels, promenades and burger and ice-cream stands.
Not
because of a large population growth but because some business men with the idea
to develop will bribe someone at the government and get the go ahead to built on
green areas. If one start than you cant stop the other.
With no control over
the dumping of rubbish, the little country area there is left will be destroyed
with bad smells, rusty iron junk, broken furniture and the lot.
Cars are a major pollutant.![]()
At this rate there will be
a car for every living person in just a few short years.
And they need a lot
of space for parking. We know of a family of 5. All three children have a car
each and 2 more cars for the parents. That's 5 cars. Two of the children attend
university in separate cars. The wife uses hers for shopping and the husband
uses it to go to work 400 meters from home.
Think for a moment when all the
12 year olds become eighteen in six years.
This is ridiculous on an island of just 300 square km.
We end with this letter from the Times of
Malta

The information gathered is 100 percent. Here is an example of
how we work.
Let us say that one of us is inquiring on how much water
is produced from a specific reverse osmosis plant. We do not settle with
an answer from one person, that is not enough and absolutely not reliable.
We will need at least 3 answers from 3 different persons to satisfy
ourselves. And the answers need to be more or less the same or we have to
start all over again.
Here is an example of the work we are doing for others.......
We
are in the procedure of helping a group of local people whom we introduced
to a German law firm to help them take legal action in the EU courts
against a Maltese company named Ballut Blocks Ltd. of Naxxar, Malta. The
group is holding Ballut Blocks Ltd. liable for damages. This group is
claiming common right of land, land that belongs to all the Maltese people
and is taking the matter to the EU courts. They claim that the quarry of
Ballut Blocks Ltd. which is situated by a valley named Ghasel Valley in
Naxxar, through intentional reckless behaviour and relentless destruction,
the company demolished parts of the named valley, the location being to
the right (facing north-northeast) of the valley walls and it's land
further beyond to at least 400 meters. That the named company, without
consideration for the surrounding fauna and flora and with intention and
reckless behaviour uprooted and destroyed trees and other indigenous
plants. The group claim that this area belongs to all the Maltese people
and that the aforementioned company had no right to destroy parts of the
named valley even if they might have had a planning permission to do such
destruction. Furthermore they will ask the courts to summon the persons
responsible who might have issued such permits.
Surely the planning
authorities would not have given permission to quarry the valley and by
doing so destroy not just the valley itself but also the fauna and flora
in it.
destructive work done by a company named Ballut Blocks
Ltd. Eventually, the planning
authority has to answer some questions
regarding this mindless destruction of land that
belongs to all
Maltese people. A group of locals are taking the Ballut Blocks Ltd. to the
EU courts.
Many indigenous plants have
suffered due to this destruction.

collapse and another gap in the wall will
materialise like D1 and D2
It will be shown on this site >>>>>
Many people within the government
departments (of ALL parties) and some private sectors of importance will be
mentioned by name. It will also show what was involved in the transactions
(money etc.). Sensitive information of this type needs to be backed by concrete
proof. This is hard to get but not impossible. And sensitive information it will
be.....We have new information regarding the BICAL, Midland, BOV and Paola
Motors cases. We will supply information on where all the monies from BICAL and
Paola Motors went. And we will talk about Mr.Bonnici, Mr. Bonello, Mr. Dalli and
the BOV bank, Mr. Mintoff, Mr. Bondin, Mr. Camilleri, Mr. Bartolo, Mr. Sant, Mr.
Pace and many others including certain judges. You will also get to know about
the chief justice who was charged with bribery. Does he have any past corrupt
doings? And what about an ex commissioner of police? Anything to hide? You need
to wait for the Maltafile 2 for that one.
We shall look at the issue of
bribery and "inconvenience caused payments" where a
person gives some money to an official for causing "inconvenience" to that
official. Inconvenience here means anything from letting the official drive 6
minutes to filling an extra form, although this is actually his work. Basically
you have to give him money to carry out his job as a public servant unless you
are prepared to wait until judgement day or incur all sorts of other
inconveniences (like being sent from office to office many many times) to get
the service you are rightfully and lawfully entitled to. So if you
want
things done you should always say "sorry for the inconvenience caused" at
the same time you hand over
an envelope with cash in it. We will also mention the people who accepted
so called "presents" in cash (and sometimes NOT in cash as you shall see).
The Maltafile 2
is being compiled at a steady pace with new, old and very old information being gathered and edited. You might ask us as to how do we get hold of such delicate information. We got the information from very dependable sources on delicate and not so delicate matters from amongst others: political members, supporters, government workers, friends and teachers. We cannot give out names due to the sensitiveness of it all, what we can say is that we have tapes with recorded information going back 32 years. We even got hold of some remote video transmission recordings of later years. Unfortunately we all have to wait a while to edit and compile all information we possess. We are also helping some people achieving their goals. The time needed reflects our effort to insist on a 100 percent accuracy of the information presented to you.

EMAILS WE RECEIVED
I haven't seen a site with so much information about one country like the
Maltafile website. Very informative indeed.
First it was Cyprus then the
Balearics and now its Malta's turn. Bob Aspar and his associates spare no one.
Like their previous ones, Maltafile is a very interesting site.
It's good
to see someone with guts like the Bob Aspar team. These people will say all no
matter what. Well done.
You shouldn't write about our country like that.
Shame on you and to hell with you all.
You f****** bast***
During a holiday in Malta my family became terribly ill due to food
poisoning. HURRAH FOR MALTAFILE.
They don't give a darn. Bob Aspar and
his associates say how it really is in the country. So they are being persecuted
for writing about the truth. DISGUSTING.
None dares to speak his mind
against Malta or its politics. You risk getting hurt by some guy or guys. Some
democracy. You did it for us. Thanks Bob and Co.
SOME ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS FROM YOUR EMAILS
Can I meet Bob or any of his
associates?
Unfortunately not.
What does OBE stand
for?
Organization for a Better Europe.
Do you have anything to do with
Maltacritique.com?
Absolutely not.
Who finance you all?
No
one.
We love to beat the sh** out of you?
We know. Some like to shake
our hands too.
What does SOMI Europe stands for?
Society of
Medditeranean Islands in Europe.
Do you have any Maltese
contacts?
Yes. Plenty. Some of us have lived here since before the
war.
Where are you based?
Malta, Brussels, and the
Netherlands.
Can I join you?
Unfortunately not.
What does B.A.A.A. stands for?
Bob Aspar And
Associates.
It seems all information is based on the truth but is it
really?
Newspaper clippings and photographs speak for themselves.
How
many are you?
11 if we include our associates in Malta, Brussels, and the
Netherlands.
Can you help in getting back some of the money my family
lost
(the government took is more appropriate) in the past?
On your email
you said this happened 30 years ago. That's a long time
nevertheless we
shall consider this.
What can Bob Aspar & Associates do about the mess (rubbish)
left over
on Comino during the summer period?
Not much. We are not the
government. We will publish photographs of the areas involved
so that the
Maltese themselves can realize what harm they are doing to their
country.
Why don't you look at other countries instead? Roads in other
countries are not perfect.
Why don't you look at the rubbish dumps in France
for example?
This is probably the most popular question we receive, every
day.
The answer is simple.....We live in Malta and not in "other
countries".
Ballut Blocks Ltd. of Naxxar....what has
happened?
This case is taking its time. As you all know this
case has been given to a German law firm.
They are helping a group of local
people to take legal action in the EU courts against a Maltese
company named
Ballut Blocks Ltd. of Naxxar, Malta. They are holding it liable for
damages,
for destruction this company incurred on the habitat surrounding its
works area namely part
of the valley in Mosta/Naxxar limits. So what has
happened? Some of this local group went
to Germany to present their case to
the advocates. One of this group telephoned the person in charge
of dealing
with quarry permits to let him know that some people are taking this
matter
to the E.U. courts now. This case is at its infancy. (read
more about this further up the page)
Lies.....all lies.
You
all must be very angry to show this.
Again. Most of these pages are built
with clippings of local newspapers and photographs.
Not angry but
disappointed. Disappointed that after so many years Malta is still
suffering
like a third world country. Power cuts, bad water, bad
manners, noise and aggravations
on a daily basis, overcharging tourists,
ripping-off the Maltese people by the Maltese businessmen.
Hygiene and safety
are non existent. Dirt and dust created by continuos building work all
over
the country. The illegal hunting which disgraces Malta. The
infrastructure, drainage, sewage.
The miserable state of the roads and the
overall state of the country is proof enough
of the corruption that exists.
And some emails say that our website gives out an unfair and
unreasonable
report.
Your website rocks. I will give you some publicity.
Was meant
to. Thanks
Can we send you some photographs and would you include them on
your website?
Unfortunately not. For the moment we have enough material.
WEBSITE RESPONSE STATISTICS
Many are against it and again many said that we are doing a good job. Our
statistics show that about 40% of emails received are for the site and the
remainder against it. Some of the 40% wanted to supply us with more information
and photographs on Malta to add on our website. And again some of the 40% asked
us to help them; 2 examples are given here: asking the authorities to employ
wardens to check on people who leave their rubbish on the island of Comino,
example: to investigate a certain bank transaction dating back 30 years, and few
others.
We were surprised by this response.
PLEASE NOTE
SOME EMAILS WE RECIEVED WERE INFECTED
WITH
A VIRUS OF THE TYPE 32NETSKY.
WE ASK YOU TO CLEAN ALL EMAILS
WITH AN ANTI VIRUS
SOFTWARE BEFORE SENDING THEM.
All
correspondence should be send to
bobaspar@yahoo.com
We will answer them in due course.
A NOTICE FROM US TO
YOU
We did not fabricate the
information in these pages, there is definitely no fiction and we did not invent
anything.
We did not need to. Most of these pages are built with clippings of
local newspapers.
NOTE:
Because of the sensitive nature of the information on
these pages WE CANNOT name persons. We will refer to them as "FRIEND" any
person who contributed information to us. We will use the word tax or taxes
referring to levy, vat, tax, excise, duty, etc.
