The PicuMarZ Diary

The children have been waiting for Santa Claus for several days now, and finally it is Xmas Eve.

We spent the morning washing up and getting dressed, and preparing a big Xmas lunch. Miranda helped me preparing the food, and she also 'helped' me by eating quite a lot of the ingredients at the same time. Stephen prepared the dessert, a warm chestnut soup.

The meal was very good, and we all ate a lot. We just had time to clear the table and wash the plates before Stephen had to 'go to work' for a little while. And soon after Santa Claus knocked on the door! Miranda was very excited, she ran to open the door and looked happy and anxious at the same time. Martyn was a bit afraid of Santa, at one point he tried to hide under our sofa .

Santa was very nice and brought a lot of presents, mainly to the kids of course. I was glad to see that both Miranda and Martyn really appreciated their presents, although they had very different styles in opening them. Miranda ripped away the paper as quickly as she could, took a fast look at the toy and then continued opening next present. Martyn on the other hand opened his first present and started to play with it, we had to remind him several times to open his other presents, too.

After playing for a while with the new toys we went to Victoria in the evening, to walk around for a while and visit some of the cribs.
