The PicuMarZ Diary

Time for our annual, long summer vacation in Finland! We had a very long day of travelling today, leaving from home at 7am. Since we have so much luggage Stephen first drove me and the kids to the airport with our car, then he returned home to put the car in the garage. Stephen's uncle Louis then gave him a ride together with the remaining luggages to join up with us at the airport. In the meantime I had checked in ourselves and some of the luggages, so we were in good time.

The flight from Malta to Munich went very well, the kids were busy with their colouring books and toys, and also ate well. The toughest and most boring part of the trip was our 9 hour waiting time at the airport in Munich. It should have been 8 hours, but because of the bad weather in Germany the flight was about 1 hour delayed. At the end both Miranda and Martyn got very tired and cranky, and in fact both of the fell asleep immediately on the plane towards Helsinki.

My dad's cousin Harald who lives near Helsinki airport picked us up and we arrived to his house around 2am. Naturally we were very tired by now, went straight to bed and had a very good night's sleep.
