The PicuMarZ Diary

We all slept very well at my relative Harald's house in Espoo after our long, exhausting day of travelling yesterday. Stephen had a wish to visit Helsinki's botanical garden today, and both Harald and his daughter Malin (+her 5-year old daughter Amanda) all decided to join us. It was very nice of them, since it gave us time to talk with them and at the same time we had personal tour guides with us .

Stephen and Harald quickly got absorbed in studying the plants, and enjoyed the botanical garden a lot. However, I, Malin and the kids felt ready to leave quite quickly, mainly due to the hot weather. We left the men at the garden and went to a nearby playing field, but Miranda was too tired and grumpy, so we soon decided to take the train back to Harald's and Malin's house (they are neighbors) in Espoo.

We rested for a while in the afternoon, and then in the evening we were invited to Malin's house for a family BBQ. Harald's son Mats and his family also joined in for the BBQ, it was very nice to get the chance to meet them, too. We ate so much food, and everything was soooo delicious: the meat, the sausages, the sill, the potatoes, the sauces and last but not least: the chocolate cake with strawberries and ice-cream!
