The PicuMarZ Diary

Last summer we visited Kelvia zoo, which is situated near Kokkola, around 40 km north from my dad's house. Miranda had a lot of fun then, however Martyn was too young to enjoy it, so we decided to go there this year again.

It is a good idea that they have "car sledges" that you can borrow and pull the kids in, because the area is quite large and the children get tired of walking. The zoo has only domestic animals, which is actually very suitable for our children's ages, since they like to touch and go near the animals. The one they both liked the most was the sheep, since they were very hungry and ate a lot of grass that the kids gave them. It was also very exciting for them to ride on a white pony.

Apart from the animals the area also includes a large tractor exhibition and small museums scattered around the place. And also a small playing field and a cafeteria. A very nice place as an outing for a family with young kids.
