The continuously nice weather invited us for another long walk today. First we drove to Victoria and went to the supermarket Arkadia to buy some food. We bought bread, tomatopaste, olives, cheese, biscuits & water, and then we drove to St Lawrenz, where we parked near the hotel Kempinski. It was very windy, so at first we felt a bit cold, but we soon warmed up when we started to climb the hill called Ghajn Abdul. When we had almost reached the top we saw a large quarry (no longer in use), and for curiousity we entered through the large "window-like" opening. Stephen got very happy when I found the flowering plant we had been searching for unsuccessfully at Citadella the previous day! He also found another interesting plant, and we spent quite a long time here exploring the flora.
We then climbed the last part up to the top of the hill and walk around there hoping to find some orchid, but I think we had already consumed our luck for today. We enjoyed the beautiful view before we started climbing down the hill on the opposite side. The cliffs here were quite high, but we managed to find a path and arrived down safe and sound.
Wied Ilma was now in front of us, and we started walking along it. It was a nice and easy walk, the only disturbing thing was the noise from a nearby quarry. We kept on walking, and when we did not hear the noise anymore we found a nice place to have our lunch break. We prepared the sandwiches, and they tasted wonderful! Stephen liked my expression: "Zzewwigt ma Maltawildplants administrator - jien naf xi tfisser!"

He even recorded me saying it
While eating we saw some sheep wandering around eating the grass, and after a while we even spotted the shepard, who most of the time was sleeping in the grass, just occassionally doing some strange sounds to the sheep.
After walking a bit further we had to climb up from the valley bottom, since it was getting too wet. We had a bit diffult climb to reach the top, but we managed without injuries. We could now see Dwejra Bay, and the Inland Sea. Once more we went down in the valley, and passed under the bridge for the road leading to Dwejra Bay.
After a short break at a bench we went near Inland Sea before we followed the road back towards St Lawrenz and our car. On the way we bought some juice in a grocery.
For dinner we decided to go to a Chinese restaurant in Marsalforn called "Blue Dragon". It took us a while to find it, since it had moved since we ate there last time. The meal was good, tasty spare ribs as starter and spicy beef and duck as main course.
