PHOTO GALLERY:
My and Malin's Summer Holiday at Gozo
September 2003

Page Description

This photo gallery consists of photos taken during a small holiday that Malin and I went between the Sunday the 7th and Wednesday the 11th of September, 2003 in the lovely island of Gozo (Ghawdex). We hired a flat for 3 nights at Marsalforn and had a really nice time at Gozo. No need to say but we spent most of our time at the marvellous beaches of Gozo. We also had time to go for the local feast of the Bambina (holy Mary as a child) at the village of xaghra, the fortifications of Citadel, Wied il-Ghasri, several restaurants, and also a trip along the countryside of Gozo picking prickly pears ! ! ! This holiday was yet another successful means of relax, fun, and lots of romantic time together.

This page contains some photos from another bay we swam in - hence Hondoq ir-Rummien. There are also a collection of photos of some of the churches around Gozo that were visible from the Citadel or from a restaurant high up in Nadur (Martin Diner's). Many of the churches where several km's away and in some occasions, the photos were taken up using about 100 x zoom, resulting in a not-so-sharp, blurry pictures. Here are photos of the main churches like that of Victoria, Xewkija, Ghajnsielem, etc.

This was also another new bay that I and Malin visited for the first time. It is called Hondoq ir-Rummien. It is a sandy bay at the south East of Gozo facing Comino. It is also a cute beach, but not as much as beautiful as Ramla. It seems to be a well known bay, and many people were here. The sand has may large pebbles and rocks, and is quite grey in colour. The sea itself is really beautiful, almost green and clear, but the swimming zone is not very large. On the other side, there are like suitable place from where on can jump and dive into the deep sea, about 4 metres high. Overall it was a nice bay and easily accessible with the car, and lots of space to park. Being at the south part, it also means that it is sheltered from strong northern winds.

Malin in her favourite type of sea colour, that is green sea, at Hondoq ir-rummien. "Jiena nhobbu l-bahar l-ahdar" was one of the first phrases that Malin said in Maltese, back in June of this year at Comino. It means - I like green sea!

The following 12 pictures are just photos of some churches that were seen from the Citadel, or Martin's diner restaurant at Nadur. Some of the city names where the church belongs too were told by Irene Galea, waiter of Martin's diner. This church belongs to he city of Ghajnsielem

Basilica church of Xghara. I went to this church on the 8th Sep since there was the feast dedicated to the Bambina (Holy Mary as a child). The decorations inside where impressive.
