The stone-built church of Leisi in Saaremaa, with 4 small domes around a larger one at the centre.

This is not another photo of the church of Leisi, but was taken from the village of Rinsi on the island of Muhu. This church looks to be exactly the same of that of Leisi (on Saaremaa), and probably built from the same construction plan! This was the first time we have seen same church construction in two different villages.

It was very difficult to find accomodation on the island Muhu, fully booked everywhere it seemed. But just when we were starting to give up we came across this marvellous place in the old village Koguva! It was so peaceful and idyllic, the perfect place for us. The building in this photo was used for toilet, shower room and sauna.

The door to the right leads to our cosy room at Koguva B&B. Unfortunately we forgot to take a photo inside, but it was really cosy and quite large, with three beds. Stephen was very happy to be able to sleep in the bed just beneith the window.

Stephen and Miranda in the large garden in Koguva. Apart from breakfast we also ate dinner here two days in a row, because the food was delicious. The first day Malin chose chicken wok and Stephen perch, and the second day both ordered perch, because the fish was extremely tasty!
It was very nice to be able to sit outside to eat, and we could move the tables as we wanted. Miranda loved to crawl around in the grass, so she let us eat in peace and quiet.

We found a small island very close to Muhu on a map, called Koinastu, and according to the map it would be possible to walk to the island. However, when we arrived there the road went under water, and we were discouraged by all the mud, so we did not go any further. Later on we found out that one family live on the island, but they need to go there with a large truck. They even keep cows on the island!

Normal countryside scenery of Saaremaa and Muhu during Summer. However this is a bit special because it was taken from the highest cliff in Muhu called Uugu, some 20 or 30 m above sea level. There are also caves which the locals refer to them as the male goat and female goat. (Don't ask us why!)

This is a photo from one of the most luxurious resorts, also known as Manor, located at Padaste, Muhu. It was built in the 15th century, but undoubtfully, several renovations have been made during these years. It is located in a park and beside the sea in which Malin took a short swim, while I and Miranda enjoyed the warm sun and nature sounds. This Manor has a restaurant, cafeteria and spa.

Photo of the church of Liiva. Entrance to the church required some EEK but have visited enough churches at this point. The church structure is quite original compared to what we have seen in Saaremaa as it was the only one which consisted of 3 triangular facades decreasing proportionally in size.

The park of the Liiva church offered this natural sculpture - a trunk of a living tree. With some imagination you can find a couple of monster or ogre faces!
