Remarks: |
A deciduous tree cultivated in few gardens in Malta. It is native to the northern hemisphere, but specimens manage to survive here in Malta. The species is also found under the taxon Platanus x hispanica as it is thought to be a hybrid between Platanus orientalis (Oriental Plane) and Platanus occidentalis (American sycamore). In America, the vernacular name for Platanus species is sycamore.
