Spergularia is a rather difficult Genus and further extensive study is required to confirm the species of this Genus on the Maltese islands. At least Spergularia bocconei is one of the confirmed species. The flowers are quite similar to Rhodalsine geniculata, the latter distinguished by having the sepals shorter from the petals.
