PHOTO GALLERY:
My holiday in Prague/Dresden/Wien (2000)

Page Description

Here are some wonderful photos from my holiday in Prague, Dresden and Vienna back in September 2000, together with my neighbour friend Etienne. I was astonished and marvelled with the beauty of these countries, especially Prague. You find everything any tourist dreams of here, such as historical buildings, wonderful country side, huge shops and supermarkets at cheap prices, excellent food, peaceful parks, and lots of cute girls too. There is lot of entertainment, and the city contains lots of tourist attractions. In Summer the climate is great too. Here you find some of the many places we visited.

This is a typical scene of Prague with its famous Karluv bridge, the Vtlava River, green domes (corroded copper), colourful painted buildings and high gothic/ancient churches/towers

This is a photo taken from a high terrace near the main castle in Prague, somewhere near the cathedral of St.Vito. It was a very beautiful place to rest and stretch your sight to the infinite land.

This is a photo of myself taken on one of the number of bridges ( about 6 I think)that there are connecting the two sides of the city. You cn notice how large is the Vtlava river.

This is also a typical picture of one of the many squares in the center of the city. Here is a good example of the old houses which contain many windows and are colourful and decorated. Most of these large houses are turned into museums or embassies or offices of important people.

This is front view of the huge cathedral of St.Vito, beside the Karluv castle. It is built in gothic style, and hence it is highly decorated in symmetrical fashion. The stained glass inside the church was also very spectacular.

Tall tower like structure at the begining of the famous Charles Bridge. It is just wonderful to just spend some minutes observing and discovering the beautiful details of this tower. Here is very busy with tourists and activities at this part

This is one of the statues that are lying along the sides of the Karlov bridge. This particular statue (which I forgot who is representing) beholds a legend. If someone touches the plaque and makes a wish, and the plaque turns golden, then the wish will realize itself. I did not believed this until I tried it myself and alas it really did turn golden!!! Haha!! Jokes apart!! The legend was a different but quite similar one. It is believed that this saint realizes wishes of people, and so much people touches this plaque that it did not get dirty or corroded since it gets polished a bit with every touch. There was a que of people who wanted to touch the plaque and I was one of them. My wish did not realize however

This is a very old clock which works not by of gears, but by the shadow of sun. It is really large, well kept, and of course still accurate!

This is one of my faovorite photos showing the beautiful sky just before sunset. The thin streaks of clouds are like being painted by someone.
