Photos MDINA Malin's holiday in Malta - Tue 17 Sep Here we are at one of the oldest cities in Malta, called Mdina. It was the former capital city of Malta, before Valletta was built up. This small city was built up on a hilly area and it was enclosed by high fortifications to prevent enemy entering and holding the city. We are here on the fortification terrace and behind us there is a panoramic view where one can see nearly half of Malta towards the South and East. MDINA Malin's holiday in Malta - Tue 17 Sep This is the house of the archbishop found in Mdina, just beside the main cathedral. It has a Gothic/medieval architecture and is well kept. MDINA Malin's holiday in Malta - Tue 17 Sep This was once the palace of the Grandmaster De Vilhena, who wanted to live at Mdina instead of Valletta. Now this place is used as a Natural Museum. MDINA Malin's holiday in Malta - Tue 17 Sep We just had a wonderful noon launch at one of the few restaurants/cafeterias in Mdina. This is one of the best to go during a sunny day since it is open air and there is a great panoramic view. However if you are very very hungry I do not recommend this place becasue our Pizza took about 45mins to be served :-) LOL! DINGLI Malin's holiday in Malta - Mon 16 Sep Here we are about 2kms walk from Dingli cliffs, were we reached a very beautiful hill situated on a projected piece of land from the steep cliffs. This was a window made in/by the rocks during sunset. DINGLI Malin's holiday in Malta - Mon 16 Sep This was one of the most peaceful places we have stayed along the country side. We were very high up, on this small rocky hill, and we were facing the sea and sunset. Very romantic and it was like a fable as seen in movies. When going back, we noted a strange light in sea at the horizon, which appeared as a large vessel blazing in fire ?! Here we are on a very beautiful high place on which a lighthouse + radar system is built. The lighthouse is called Giordan's Lighthouse.
