Photo taken from Marsalforn (Gozo) from a high hill where there was a statute of Jesus Christ. The view from here was wonderful, revealing the green land of Gozo during Winter. Unfortunately it was very cloudy and dull. In Summer the view is completely different, yellow and dry! This photo shows the main road from Marsalforn to Victoria.

This photo is taken at the north west side of Gozo. I wonder to whom it belongs that expensive villa in the middle of the countryside!!!

Another photo from Marsalforn hill, showing plenty of fields and small lanes through the greenery of the island - ideal for hiking and picnics, if weather is OK! This part shows the west side of Gozo.

FILFLA and FILFLETTE

This is the 5th and smallest of the Maltese islands, however it has both natural and historical importance. During the second world war, the English colony used this inhabited islet to train their plane bombers - it served as a target as if it was a large ship. From the natural point of view this island is protected from visitors, fishermen, tourists etc, becasue it has some endemic species, namely a lizard, and few plants and mushrooms. It is really good news for the nesting birds which are well hunted in the rest of Maltese islands.
